This is a restaurant in the center of tourist way.  It's nice to sit and people watch.  The food was good.  We got soup and pizza.  Nothing was amazing but it wasn't terrible either.

The waiter was very nice and hospitable.  The wait wasn't long.  Though we were there around 3pm, so an off time.

I am glad I didn't read the reviews before I sat down here as I would have moved on.  Our experience was not bad at all and quite enjoyable.  Yes it's more than a lot of places, but look where you are sitting.  Probably could guess that simply by its location on the tourist highway of Venice.

After sitting and ordering, the waiter took my order of a single pasta dish (to share between two people) and no drink. He immediately was shocked and said "food and drink was ok, but food and no drink...no". As he waved us off, we got up and left.

His arrogance, inept attitude towards customers, and ignorance of good service leads me to believe this place is fed up with tourists. This is one less customer who will attend such service!

This restaurant gets it ALL wrong in terms of making visitors feel welcome in the beautiful city of Venezia. My husband and I arrived in Venice on August 18, 2018 for our honeymoon and immediately decided to go in search of food. We came upon Solda almost immediately and stopped to admire how relaxed the outdoor atmosphere seemed for patrons. Next, we walked to the entrance and looked at the menu. They have a two or three course option I believe for about 20 euro each, which features Italian cuisine and pizza. Great! We were sold (and hungry and tired). I use my phone app to remember my Italian phrases, so that we don't appear be "those" foreigners who expect everyone to speak English. (A lot of planning went into this second portion of our honeymoon to help ensure a good experience). This is where it all goes wrong: a portly man, who appeared to be staff and maybe even management, breezed past us even as my husband and I greeted and excused ourselves in Italian to get his attention. He pretended we didn't exist even though he had to step around my husband to get out of the restaurant door. Wow! Ok.... I step inside of the shop and then a moment or so later another waiter zips past walking into the shop and I call out to him. He stops and turns to us with pure irritation and disdain. We recoil at the expression on his face, but I press on and ask in Italian if he speaks English. He snaps that that he does. I ask if we seat ourselves and then are approached for service. This man very rudely waves me off with his hand as if I'm a fly on a wall and says with anger now, "just sit." My husband immediately pulls me back from the man because he looked like he had a serious issue with us being there, and not the normal tired waiter encounter you can sometimes receive after a long night. Before reading the other reviews here we seriously wondered if it was due to being Black-American, because we'd stood and watched each waiter rushing to serve their European counterparts without an issue. I don't know if it feels any better to know they are rude to any and all at whim. In any case, eat here at your own peril and be prepared for a temper that you may not be expecting when you ask a simple question like, "Is it OK to seat ourselves?" This restaurant can truly sour your first impression of such a beautiful place.

Do NOT EAT THERE !!!!!!!!! WORST SERVICE, WORST PIZZA. We kindly asked the waiter to make the chef precut the pizza and he swore in Italian in front of us because we asked him. WORST SALADS.

My husband and I HAD to stop here for a quick meal because we arrived here late and we were hungry. We saw this place that was open and decided to eat quickly before we continued to search for other good food in the area (we are on a mission to eat as much good Italy good food as we can). We sat down looked at the menu and ordered one pasta. The waiter asked if we wanted any drinks and we said no thank you. Then his whole attitude changed and said "ohh drink with no food ok, food with no drinks no". My husband thought he was joking and said "oh haha it's ok", turned out the waiter wasn't joking and told us off and said "ciao!" in a rude way. So we took our money and spent it with a business that was more friendly with customers, who deserved tourists' money :-)
